Who we are. World Traveler is operated by Fades Management EOOD, Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Contact: info@fades-management.com.
What we store. Your name, e-mail address and a hashed password; the visits you add (country, optional place name, optional coordinates, dates, notes); and the language you choose. Nothing else.
Location. Your location is only read when you tap "I'm here", and only to find the country and city you are in. We do not track you in the background and we never sell or share location data.
Friends and community. Friends you accept see your name, username, home country, your recent trips (country, place name and date, never coordinates or notes) and your statistics, and can compare their map with yours. Challenges show your score to the other participants. You can remove a friend or leave a challenge at any time.
Sharing. Your map is private unless you switch sharing on. A shared page shows your name, the countries you visited and your statistics, never your e-mail address or exact coordinates. You can switch sharing off at any time. Shared pages include a generated image of your map with your first name and statistics, which social networks may cache.
Third parties. Place names are looked up with OpenStreetMap Nominatim; only the coordinates or the search text are sent, never your identity. E-mails (such as password resets) are sent through our own mail server. There are no ads, no analytics trackers and no marketing cookies; the website only uses a technical session cookie on the password-reset page.
Your rights. Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, or have it deleted. Deleting your account in the app does this immediately. For anything else, e-mail us.
Deleting your data. Delete your account in the app (Profile → Delete account) or follow the steps on this page. All your data is removed immediately.
Hosting. Data is stored on servers in the European Union.
